Civil Engineer (PE) Position

Element Design is looking for a Full-Time licensed Civil Engineer for our Lexington, KY office. We are looking for motivated and team-oriented candidates with experience working on Civil Engineering design projects, including stormwater, sanitary, and water distribution.  As experience and skills allow, this position will work independently under the direction of the Senior Engineer and Principals by performing all aspects of site design, including project management as experience allows. The successful candidate will be a team player who brings experience and innovation, yet is also willing to learn from a highly talented and experienced team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform civil engineering design to support site planning and design projects. 

  • Preparation and review of engineering reports and documents.

  • Assist in developing graphic communication of designs, including charts, profiles, and models as required.

  • Coordinate project assignments with other design team members.

  • Review of drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommend necessary changes.

  • Coordinate and work with City, State, and County officials and assist with permitting for projects.

  • Assist with other duties assigned by Project Managers.

  • Attend design review meetings and interact with clients.

  • Perform site visits as needed to document findings in the field.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering, licensed PE required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Site Civil department.

  • Demonstrated educational and / or work experience showing strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience participating in team meetings and interacting with clients.

  • Experience with AutoCAD required, specifically with Civil 3D preferred.  Experience with Revit a plus, but not required.

  • Interest and experience in stormwater design, site grading, and site utility design.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software preferred.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple tasks.

  • Willingness to perform a variety of activities as needed by the team.
