Civil / Landscape Design Project Coordinator Position

Element Design is looking for a Full-Time Civil or Landscape Designer for our Louisville, KY office. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with valued public clients both in the field during construction and in the office developing design solutions on various sizes of projects. As experience allows, the successful applicant will provide project management and/or project management support for Senior staff throughout the entire design and construction process. Element will consider applicants with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working for a landscape architectural or civil engineering firm or department, or for a design/build construction company. Experience with public agencies, particularly the parks and recreation and / or natural resources sector, is highly desirable.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple tasks, while also being a team player who is willing to learn from and work with a highly talented and experienced team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work as part of a team with clients, consultants, and contractors to support implementation of public projects at various scales.

  • Assist in reviewing, developing and preparing construction drawings and documentation.

  • Attend meetings and interact with consultants and clients as experience allows.

  • Review and observe projects in the field during construction.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s and / or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Site Construction or related field.

  • Experience with Construction Administration and / or performing or managing Construction activities in the field is preferred.

  • Proficiency with AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office required; experience with Revit, Lumion, or other 3D BIM and / or rendering software preferred.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple tasks.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
